I'm Jelilat.
What's this all about?
I will be working with on a self-directed project as an intern of the Texas Tech University Teaching, Learning, & Professional Development Center, ePortfolio Initiative (TLPDC). While there, I will be using my instructional design skills to create a variety of media e.g. video, text etc. to educate faculty and student in how to create ePortfolios using the Blackboard learning tool. A good job means that faculty and students are more inclined to use the system, and even other portfolio tools.
About the TLPDC
The Texas Tech University TLPDC is in charge of a variety of institutional professional development. The department is particularly enamored with improving the use of ePortfolio among undergraduate, graduate students and faculty.
Funding
This project is a little part of the The Global Readiness Through Language and Culture (GRLC). The GRLC is funded by the Center for Global Communication and led by Dr. Alec Cattell. According, to Dr Cattell, "The GRLC project aims to prepare undergraduate students to identify global issues that connect to their area of study, conduct research on those issues, and demonstrate competencies to address them. By developing co-curricular programming to enhance student learning, the GRLC project will showcase the competencies students develop via the study of languages and cultures as not only highly transferable, but also crucial for navigating global challenges related to population, resources, technology, information, economics, conflict, and governance".
Tools
I will be using the OMNI web editing tool and the Camtasia screencasting tool to facilitate the effective and efficient completion of the project.
